I really can’t understand why it carries a score of 6-7. May be its Swiss standards. Location was excellent and my room had everything required for a decent stay, even a cabinet filled with washroom essentials. Obviously it’s a bit pricy, but given the stature and the locations, I believe it’s a good value. I saw some reviews saying it old which gave me doubts while booking, but it the authenticity of the hotel, obviously the facilities can be renewed like lift lit up and switches in the room, but all of them were functional without a hassle, which is the crucial part. Once I forgot my key card inside and having bad experiences with these kind of things, I was bit hesitant reaching the receptionist, but he gave me access card straight away without any inconvenience. I couldn’t get the name of him, but please thank the night receptionist who worked on 16th of September 24.

The hotel is reasonably well located, being a 10 minute walk from Geneve Eaux-Rives Station, which has a good restaurant nearby on the way down to the hotel and is on the direct line to the Stade de Geneve. It is a short walk to find the tram and buses that link you to the main station in 15 to 20 minutes. The waterfront is about 5-10 minutes walk away and the Cathedral area about 15 minutes walk away. The reception staff were on duty during the day and late at night after I came back after the Women’s Euros and are friendly. The area felt safe and is reasonably well-lit. The two rooms I had were spacious, clean and comfortable. There was no internal noise and I had no problems as regards the availability of the lift. The hotel offered the Geneva Travel Card, which gave free travel on all forms of transport, throughout my stay.

Exceptionally professional staff, the gentleman who was at the desk this morning helped me with so much patience as I had to solve a last minute emergency before my departure from this very fast business trip in Geneva. I am used to traditional European places of that rating and I found exactly what I expected : I had a single standard room, took a nice hot tub, watched some news & used the wifi in the very comfy large bed in which I slept so nicely until room service woke me up as planned for my meeting. Loved the general feel and deco, noble materials throughout, lots of wooden warmth.

The staff member that checked us in April 16 and checked us out April 20 was the same gentleman. Absolutely a wonderful gentleman and the best representative of Hotel Century. Your bar does not function as a normal bar but one evening he was even a bartender for my wife, my 80 year old Geneve friend that I have known for 46 years, and myself. This staff is not actually a bartender, but he made cocktails for us and we were appreciative. The morning buffet breakfast was excellent. The room size is more than sufficient.

Central location, friendly and helpful staff. It’s a very old fashioned hotel probably in need of upgrading but is clearly well maintained and as clean as possible given the age. Not the fault of the staff but there was no AC (municipality rules) so we were offered a fan, this fused the whole room and we had to change rooms in the middle of the night.
